Hot Chocolate Bar

A friend was telling me about having a hot chocolate bar for a get-together and I loved the idea.  She sent me the recipe she used for homemade crockpot hot chocolate she found on Pinterest (where else?) and then it was time to get creative with "toppings/fillings" for the hot chocolate.  I had this set up for Christmas Day when we had family over.

First of all, the hot chocolate crock pot recipe can be found HERE.  It's fabulous!

Here's a picture of all the "toppings."
I had cinnamon sticks, chocolate covered cherries, caramels/caramel syrup, white chocolate chips, Rolos, mint chocolate candy canes, peppermint candies, and several varieties of marshmallows; mini, Peeps snowman, regular size marshmallows with snowman face "painted" on them (food coloring tubes), and marshmallows dipped in chocolate and then coated with various Christmas-color sprinkles or crushed peppermint candy canes.

It was a big hit!  I can't wait to do it again!

Merry "Prima" Christmas To Me!

A while back I was reading Michelle Philippi's blog and she was saying how she wasn't all that thrilled with her Prima papers and said she would send them to the first person to email her and tell her they wanted them.  I guess it paid to be up early that day, because I emailed her and got a reply that she would get them in the mail to me!  I wasn't sure how much paper to expect.  They arrived yesterday.  Boy, was I surprised to find EIGHT 6x6 Paper Stacks (Reflections, Sweet Fairy, Madeline, Fairy Flora, Printery, North Country, Londonerry, and Annalee) as well was 3 packs of Chipboard Stickers that coordinate with 3 of the stacks!  Talk about an unexpected Christmas present! Here are just a few:

Here are the Chipboard packs that were included:

I want to send a great big THANK YOU to Michelle!  So sweet and generous of her!  If you don't follow her blog, you should!  She also has some adorable items in her Etsy shop, My Shoppe.  I think these brown vintage bags are my favorite!  I'm going to be ordering some real soon!
I'm super excited to start making cards with my new paper!  I'm off to get my craft on!

What's on your crafting to do list now that Christmas is over?

Final Christmas Cards...For Real This Time!

Oops...forgot to post this yesterday! :)

Yes, I'm still making Christmas cards!  I don't think I'm going to be able to stop, even after Christmas is over.  Oh well, never too early to get started on next year! :)

Here are some simple cards using the remains of my Season's Greetings paper from Echo Park.

And a tag using the same paper collection:

 Merry Christmas!

Safco Mobile File Cart Review

**Disclaimer:  This is not a paid advertisement**

Good Morning Crafty Friends!

I wanted to show you all a great gift I got for my birthday from my wonderful husband.  It's a Safco Mobile File Cart to help keep your various 8x8 cardstock/papers AND your 12x12 stacks organized and at your fingertips. Here it is just put together.  Doesn't look that helpful, right?

Well, if you buy this, be sure to also purchase, at the same time, some of the Cropper Hopper hanging file folders that will hold your 12x12 stacks/papers.  The cart will be useless (and pointless) without them.  Here it is with the Cropper Hopper folders as well as regular, letter-sized, hanging file folders.

The Cropper Hopper files come 6 to a package.  I only ordered 1 package, but definitely need another one as I still have quite a few 12x12 stacks that need to be added.

I love, love, love that it has wheels!  It's so easy to maneuver to wherever you need it!  I like the shelf on the bottom as well to hold my new 12x12 kit purchases.  They sit here, anxiously awaiting opening.  :)

So if you get a little extra moolah for Christmas this year and need a better way to organize your papers and have them at your fingertips, I would highly recommend this!

Merry Christmas!

Another giveaway win?! Don't hate me!

I did say this was my lucky week, right?  I just found out I won another giveaway!  This one was sponsored by Beth Kingston/Xyron.  She had a "Christmas on Pinterest" giveaway where you had to post a picture of your Xyron (whatever kind you had) and then post a project that you created using said Xyron.  I posted a picture of my Create-a-Sticker Xyrons, and I was one of the lucky winners!  I get a choice of another X or refills.  I chose another X, and guess what?  I'm going to use it as a giveaway in the near future!  Yay!

Here's Beth's post:  "Congratulations to our Thursday "Christmas on Pinterest" giveaway winners - Heather Franks, Cheryl Hutcherson, Tonya Baker, Hang Nguyen, Emily Hall and Lindsay Zammit! I sent a message to each of you on your pinterest page with more details. Only one day left everybody...six more people are going to be celebrating Christmas with some new Xyron goodies! You still have time to enter! Woohoo!"

I haven't been creating much this week.  It's been so busy with a kids' Christmas party, last minute Christmas shopping, baking, etc.  I think it's safe to say I won't be posting anymore this week and hopefully I'll see you early next week with some new things.  (Unless I win something else in the meantime, at which point I will have to post and brag!) :)

Merry Christmas!

Final Christmas Cards

**UPDATE:  Authentique's Contest has ended, so my Blog Giveaway has Ended as well.  I'll announce the winner in a new blog post tonight or tomorrow morning!  Good Luck!***

Good Morning Everyone!

I would like to say "Welcome" to my newest followers from the giveaway!  Thanks so much for participating!  Feel free to share the giveaway with your friends.  I'm in the drawing for the $50 Target Gift Card.  So far, only 2 other people have sent 20 friends to be eligible for that drawing as well.  So I have a 1 in 3 chance of winning!  Woot!  If I win, then all my friends who helped me by liking Authentique, will be in a drawing for a $50 Target Gift Card as well!  Yay!  (You can only comment once that I sent you)

I'm still 21 "likes" away from winning the $100 Target Gift Card.  So any friends you can send to Authentique's FB page and have them comment that Cheryl Hutcherson, sent them, would be most appreciated!

Now, onto what I did over the weekend in my craft room.  I actually still needed to make some more Christmas cards to go with some handmade gifts I'll be handing out to neighbors this week, so here's what I came up with, trying to keep it easy/simple but cute!
Just cut out a Christmas tree shape.  I used some thin cardboard-type material so it would be extra sturdy.  Then cut 1/2 inch thick strips of your favorite Christmas paper (this one is Bo Bunny's Blitzen), glue them on and then trim off the excess.  I ran some Kraft paper through my Paper Crimper for the tree trunk.  I used my Modern Label Punch from Stampin' Up to punch out different words from one of the 12x12 sheets of paper in the Blitzen collection and used adhesive foam dots ("pop dots" as I call them) to give them a little dimension.  I used my QuicKutz Squeeze to do the star.

Here's a couple more using Echo Park's Season's Greetings paper.  I'm down to my final scraps from this 12x12 kit.  Sadness!
That's it for today folks.  Hope you get a chance to go get your craft on sometime today!

A Weekend of Randomness

I wanted to share with you all what I did over this past weekend.  It's quite the mixture of things.  First, I got on a tag frenzy and made some tags to put on packages.

It's a great way to use up all those Christmas stickers you've had for years!

Then I made another fancy paper stocking:
Then I needed a Birthday Card for Sunday:
And I made a couple more Christmas cards...

Still have to make lots more Christmas cards to hand out at church on Sunday.  So I'm off to get my craft on!

Thanks for stopping by!
