Publix, a "Grandpa," and a Birthday!

I don't like going grocery shopping.  Didn't like it when I was single.  Still didn't like it after I was married.  Especially don't like it having to tote 2 kids along now.  However, since I have to grocery shop, there's no place I'd rather do it at than PUBLIX!  We heart Publix for so many reasons.  The main reason, however, is the employees and how friendly and helpful they are...genuinely and consistently!  (Trust me, you don't get that at Kroger...at least not our Kroger!)

In particular, we love Mr. Boyd!  Mr. Boyd is like a grandpa to Olivia!  He sacks our groceries and always takes them out to our car for us.  He is so sweet and kind and adores Olivia.  Of course, he has many Publix "grandchildren" that he has adopted, but I like to think that Olivia is his favorite! :)

During holidays like Valentine's and Easter when they have special displays right as you walk in the door, Olivia will see a stuffed animal she likes, squeal about it and then carry it around the store with her until it's time to go and she has to put it back (after hugs and kisses, of course).  On 2 occasions, Mr. Boyd has purchased said stuff animals for her after we have left and has given them to her on our next trip into the store.  I mean, what store employee has ever done that for your kids?!

Tuesday (tomorrow) is Mr. Boyd's birthday.  I was told he loves getting cards on his birthday.  Hmmm...who do I know who makes cards???  Oh yeah, ME! :)  But it has to be a really special, meaningful card.  Don't you just love it when you've got just the right thing already on hand?!  I know I was sure happy when I looked at my Fresh Squeezed Stamps "Breath of Fresh Flair" set and saw that shopping cart!  I couldn't get this card made fast enough! :)

Mr. Boyd definitely puts love into our cart (and hearts) every time we see him!  We hope he truly has a blessed and wonderful birthday!

Go get your Publix on!

Just A Note

It's Squeeze-A-Palooza #7: Spring at Fresh Squeezed Stamps!  I will be featuring cards made for this challenge over the next several days on my blog.

Spring is synonymous with flowers!  I created the base part of the flower by stamping the scallop banner from the String Me Along twice to make a circle and then stamped the flower from the Soda-Lighted set on top of it.

ACTION STEP:  Please go to Fresh Squeezed Stamps Squeeze-A-Palooza blog, scroll to the bottom and click "like" on #6: Spring Lanterns.  (Feel free to repeat daily)  THANK YOU!  (Also, my best crafting buddy, Donna, has an entry that could use your "likes" as well--#10: Spring Fancy.)

I will also be entering this card in Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenge HERE.

Bloom!

Happy Saturday, Folks!  It's another Squeeze-A-Palooza #7: Spring at Fresh Squeezed Stamps entry!

I love it when my daughter brings me the first flowers of Spring to put in a vase on the table.  Granted, they're usually just weeds, but it's the thought that counts, right?! :)  No weeds in my card, just beautiful flowers from Fresh Squeezed Stamps Soda-Lighted stamp set.

I fussy cut (or as I like to refer to it "what in the world was I thinking cutting these out!") the flowers, stems and vase and assembled them accordingly.  The "bloom" sentiment is from the Subway Series: Spring stamp set.

Bikes & Birds

**Giveaway Alert**  It's Friday Giveaway: Core'Dinations and Graphic 45 over at Create: Blog!  There will be 3 winners!  Go enter!

It's Squeeze-A-Palooza #7: Spring at Fresh Squeezed Stamps!  I will be featuring cards made for this challenge over the next several days on my blog.

Nothing is more fun to do in the Spring than to get the bike out of the garage and have a leisurely bike ride in the park!

I used the Breath of Fresh Flair stamp set from Fresh Squeezed Stamps for the bike "flair" and the birds on the wires...and the "happy" sentiment.  I threw in a few different washi tapes as well.  Love my washi!

Fireflies in a Jar = Springtime!

It's Squeeze-A-Palooza #7: Spring at Fresh Squeezed Stamps!  I will be featuring cards made for this challenge over the next several days on my blog.

A fond Spring memory for me and now my daughter is catching fireflies (lightening bugs!) in a jar.  On my card, I made sure to "poke holes" in the top of the lid so the little buggers can breathe! :)  The jars are from the Breath of Fresh Flair stamp set and the fireflies are from the String Me Along stamp set.  The sentiment is part of the Subway Series: Spring set.

It's Squeeze-A-Palooza Time!

It's Squeeze-A-Palooza #7: Spring at Fresh Squeezed Stamps!  I will be featuring cards made for this challenge over the next several days on my blog.

Today I'm using the String Me Along stamp set that I won with their recent new release blog hop!  I love this set!  When I saw the lanterns, I pictured pretty patterned lanterns swinging in the warm breeze on a spring day...just waiting for a spring party to break out!  So here's the card I created:

For this challenge, there's always a random draw winner, but this time around with 15 or more participants, there's going to be TWO random draw winners (think free stamp set of you choice)!  There's always a winner for the most "likes" too...so like away! :)

If you're local and want to play but don't have any Fresh Squeezed Stamps yet, message me and we'll work out a time for you to come over and create a card (or 2 or 3).  I have several stamp sets to choose from!

I will also be entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes HERE.

The Twinery: April Theme Challenge

Hello Crafty Peeps!

Long time no blog!  Thankfully The Twinery has given me a reason to blog and create with their Theme Challenge:  April Showers and Stripes!  I can never resist an opportunity to win more twine!

LOVE The Twinery Twine!  Here are the yummy colors I used:
Pea Pod

The umbrella was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. I took 2 sections and striped them with my twine.  I also ran my umbrella through my Big Shot using Dots & Flowers embossing folder (dots folder).  I used the same embossing folder on my yellow background paper (flowers folder).

The paper is from Crate Paper's Fourteen Collection.  I used a retired Stampin' Up set of letters called Rough Type to type out my sentiment and used SU Crumb Cake ink.

There are a couple days left to play along in this challenge, so you should go get your twine on and enter!

A Buttons & Bows Happy Birthday

Good Evening!

Got another card for you today!  This is a "Buttons & Bows" card for Really Reasonable Ribbon's current challenge going on HERE

I used a fabric button from Basic Grey's Mint Julep collection that I won a while back.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I won a $10 GC from them a couple weeks ago and got a spool of twine and they threw in a few ribbon samples and this was one of them.  Love this color and the wide width of this ribbon!  Thanks for the extras RRR!  Here's hoping for another win! :)

I'm also hoping for a $50 GC to Simon Says Stamp when I get randomly drawn as the winner on their Happy Birthday challenge HERE.  There are only 682 entries! :)

Go get your craft on!

Hey!

Happy Monday!

For my happy card today I used my new Fresh Squeezed Stamps set (that I won) called "Breath of Fresh Flair."  It's so cute!  I used the Polaroid flair stamp and just happened to have a "real" piece of flair with a Polaroid on it, so added that on top of one of my stamped flair.

I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment (Fresh Squeezed Stamps set called Soda-Lighted) so I could enter my card into Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Happy Birthday HERE

Go get your craft on!
